Twenty-one years ago, the United States was rocked by the events of 9/11. But it might be fair to say the US had grown complacent. Our culture was moving in some very negative directions morally and socially. We were shaken up!
Jesus writes to the church at Laodicea and accuses them of being complacent, apathetic, lukewarm. The church today seems to be in a similar position. The church is looking more and more like the culture rather than speaking the truth of God’s word to it. This message speaks to the issues that Jesus called out.
